The University of Tampa has strict rules and regulations to ensure that students get the most out of their experience here. That's why campus security is very strict and severe with students that break the rules.

If students break any of the rules, even a rule that deserves severe punishment, they will get it. Examples include students getting kicked off campus for hiding drugs in their rooms, as well as for getting caught underage drinking. The best advice for students is to abide by the rules; otherwise, you could end up leaving campus where you will not have as much fun and instead feel alienated from campus life.

Security Is a Joke.

The security at the University of Tampa is terrible. They give parking tickets for no reason and they are jerks and I strongly dislike them.

Parties? Where?

The University of Tampa does not hold their student bodies' hands, which is nice. At this point in any young adult's life, independence is very important. Naturally, there are restrictions on alcohol consumption, but it is not the largest issue. As I mentioned, the school is well governed and the lot of students are well-spoken and clean-cut.

Visitation Policies

You may have overnight guests with prior authorization from your roommate(s). Guests will not be allowed in a room unless all occupants in that room are in agreement. Residents are asked to notify their RA when they will be having overnight guests. All guests are subject to University regulations and residence hall policies.

Residents are responsible for the actions of their guest(s) and must be escorted at all times. Guests, including family members, may stay a maximum of three days in the residence halls. If a student feels his or her roommate(s) are not abiding by this policy, it is his or her responsibility to notify an Office of Residence Life staff member.
