Best Time to Look for a Place

Students often look for places to live between May and July, but another good time for students to look for a place off campus could be around December. The prices are lower because there is much more demand during summer when students are looking for housing for the next academic year.

Popular Areas Some of the most popular neighborhoods for the students to live in include Harbour Island, Davis Island, and even downtown apartments like Skypoint.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Off-campus housing for University of Tampa students is not really that hard to find. There are a lot of flyers around campus, and if the students go to the admissions office, they will find magazines and books that offer great deals and different options. Often, with units close to campus, students find themselves really good deals. Also, moving in with other students makes off-campus housing more affordable.

Students often find off-campus living totally worth it. Many international students live off campus, those students who might find themselves trapped under regulations that they are not used to back in their home country. Financially, living off campus could be beneficial, but there's nothing like living on campus and experiencing what college life has to offer within a smaller radius.

Expensive Housing and Limited Public Transportation

Off-campus housing has a lot of cons. Housing in downtown Tampa is expensive and it's hard to get enough financial aid to cover it. Also, students that don't have cars will have to walk through downtown to get to school. That's time consuming and not very safe.
