The amount given is less then half the cost of school. It is also hard to deal with the financial aid people at UT because they are jerks.

I did not receive the amount of scholarships that I was looking for and the scholarships were easily taken away when they were needed the most. No leniency when your grades were getting tough to keep up.

A wide variety of financial assistance is available to undergraduates in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans. In fact, more than 80 percent of UT undergraduates receive some type of financial aid.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for any type of need-based aid or loan.
Some of the most common types of aid for undergraduate students are UT scholarships and grants, aid for Florida residents, federal grants, loans, employment, etc.

If you have good grades and apply early, you will have no trouble with getting some type of financial aid.
