Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Most students agree that UTC is a diverse school that has introduced them to a great college experience. The city of Chattanooga has a great impact on students with the many outdoors activities available and the breathtaking scenery. Chattanooga is a like a large southern city and smaller suburbs rolled into one place. The only negatives from students are the city can get boring and you have to try to meet new people to have a great experience. UTC is a great change for students who are used to bustling city life and no outdoor activities.

The campus is small enough to see the same people throughout the day but large enough to always find something to do. The wide selection of organizations to join influenced many students to stay. Greek life is popular among students and is a great way to get to know more people. The key to loving UTC is to be involved. Try everything you can do. If you don't like it, try something new. Come with an open mind and you will love the school.

UTC Transportation

Parking was much more accessable in the 2011 school year, before they turned the parking garage into private parking. There are limited spaces and many new students each semester. The school has contracted with Carta bus services to circle the campus during the weekdays at no charge. Public Carta services are also available to all students free of charge with their student ID, which makes for travel easier and more economical around town.

Health & Safety at University of Tennessee - Chattanooga

UTC Safety on Campus

I always feel safe on campus. I can walk anywhere alone and not feel threatened. Just as if you were in any other city, you need to lock your car doors and be mindful of your surroundings. Just because the school feels safe, it is an open campus and anyone could be around the next corner. The security officers are always available and fast to respond, so there are little worries around campus.
