College Prowler Take

Most students will probably agree that UT is much more diverse than the high school they attended, regardless of their background. Many high schools in Tennessee are rather homogeneous, regardless of their size. While an individual’s perception of UT’s level of diversity may vary, UT does make many efforts to accommodate minority students and make their college experience rewarding.

UT has attempted to attract more minority students through various programs and offerings. UT attracts a wide array of international students, and chances are very likely that you will share a class with one. While UT’s level of diversity may be considered less than ideal by many students, students of all backgrounds are comfortable at UT.

The new school president made campus diversity a top priority. He implemented a new way of attracting minority students to the school, and I think there is already a very diverse crowd here.

Things are pretty diverse. There are lots of different types of people who are into a ton of different things—everything from the water-skiing club to NORML, which is an organization for the legalization of marijuana.
