College Prowler Take

The Strip is a convenient place to enjoy a meal with friends. They have good variety, reasonable prices, and usually aren’t extremely busy. Very few cities of comparable size boast the dining prowess of Knoxville. The restaurant business generally has a 50 percent failure rate, but in Knoxville, restaurant buildings do not stay vacant long. Consequently, there is a great variety that caters to every taste.

Your choices will not be solely of franchises due to the many superb mom-and-pop eateries. This all stems from Knoxville’s love of good food and great atmosphere paired with a low cost of living. The Strip has much to offer, but when you are ready for something different, branching out will offer much more.

The restaurants around campus are great. There is a good variety within walking distance. Most of the restaurants on the strip are good. The Sunspot is amazing, especially on wine night! Moe's is always a good choice.

Prepare yourself for what will sound like a crass advertisement: Puleo’s Grille was voted ‘Knoxville’s Best Restaurant’ by the Metro Pulse. Their menu is one of a kind, from classic Southern favorites to Chinese, Italian, and steaks. You will not be disappointed! I recommend the shrimp and grits.

Ye Olde Steak House is truly an institution in Knoxville. Even the most discriminating steak connoisseur will enjoy their menu. It is an expensive restaurant, but it is worth every penny. When you order a rare steak, it will come rare, and you can skip the steak sauce.

Once you grow tired of campus dining and the Strip, there are many great restaurants in other parts of Knoxville that are actually pretty close. If you never leave campus for dinner at least a few times, you are really missing out.
