University of Tennessee - Overall ExperienceCollege Prowler0.00
College Prowler Take
UT draws students from all over, and it is little wonder why. UT has a personality all its own. The level of pride and tradition here is among the strongest in the country, and the amount of support Knoxville has for UT is amazing, especially with sports. You will love the laid-back Southern style UT has to offer, and you will enjoy spending time with the people you meet here. Ask any UT alumni about their most positive life experiences, and I guarantee you that most of those experiences will have occurred at UT. It is understandable to see how UT can appear intimidating on paper, especially to those coming from a small town. There are many different activities to become involved in, and they are yours for the taking if you are willing to make the effort and work hard. The key to success at UT, as well as any college, is to learn to manage your time properly. As long as you remember that education is the main reason for coming to UT and prioritize accordingly, you will be very happy during your college days.

My experience in school has been a mixture of positives and negatives. The positives have been my social life, experience in the classroom, and overall outcome in life. The negatives have been how the administration treats me as a number rather than a person. |

I thought it would be real different, too different from what I am used to at home in Long Island, New York, but I actually found it to be very nice. I love the mountains and the beautiful Tennessee scenery. In the South, there are definitely the accents, and everything is a little more slow paced. |

I’m a very picky person, and I had a list of eight schools I was going to apply to, but after visiting UT, it was the only school I applied to. I’m not trying to beef up UT because I know how stressful it is to have to decide on a school, but I like it a lot. |

My experience at UT has been good,...
My experience at UT has been good, but Tennessee is suffering because they don’t have an income tax, so many programs are being cut at UT, and tuition is on the rise. It’ll be interesting to see how the state legislature deals with the funding problem. |

Because I have lived so close to UT all of my life, it was not initially somewhere I wanted to go. As soon as I started school and saw what UT had to offer, I felt much better about my choice. I have since become involved in campus activities and gained a solid and useful education. There are many memories of UT and friends that will be with me for the rest of my life. |
