Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

UT draws students from all over, and it is little wonder why. UT has a personality all its own. The level of pride and tradition here is among the strongest in the country, and the amount of support Knoxville has for UT is amazing, especially with sports. You will love the laid-back Southern style UT has to offer, and you will enjoy spending time with the people you meet here. Ask any UT alumni about their most positive life experiences, and I guarantee you that most of those experiences will have occurred at UT.

It is understandable to see how UT can appear intimidating on paper, especially to those coming from a small town. There are many different activities to become involved in, and they are yours for the taking if you are willing to make the effort and work hard. The key to success at UT, as well as any college, is to learn to manage your time properly. As long as you remember that education is the main reason for coming to UT and prioritize accordingly, you will be very happy during your college days.

Pretty Ok

I'm not paying for it, so I can't complain about the bureaucracy or the annoying facets of the University. I'm getting a quality education at UT and am making some wonderful friends and engaging in great activities. UT can be good, but you've gotta work at it.

My experience at UT has been wonderful. I think that every person can make UT what they want to make it. Getting involved seems to be the thing that separates the people who love UT and those who do not. Even if you do not want to go Greek, I would suggest getting involved in some kind of club.
