UT has on of the top business schools nationally. I know other programs are also recognized. Professors have experience on the field and love interacting with students. Some classes are small and heavy on group work. You can choose to travel abroad, and the business school has study areas just for business majors. Coursework can be heavy on occasion.

I received a good amount of financial aid. The process was easy, and if you have any problems the financial office staff is very helpful.

The business school has been nationally recognized and it is one of the top programs offered. There is a lot to do in Austin, culturally, the music scene is amazing as well the movie scene. The night life is vibrant here, and you can always find something to do. Campus also has things gone on very often, and lots of free food as well as shirts. The school is beautiful and the tower is amazing.

Public buses are free for students. There are college shuttles that go around/through campus as well as city buses. They are free and have good schedules for the most part.

Most professors are great. There's a heavy work load though. Some upper-level classes are hard to arrange because there is only one section available. Most classes make you think and are very good at broadening your horizons.

The transportation at and around UT via the UT Shuttle Buses is top-notch.
However, Austin public transport leaves much to be desired (ex: train).
College Junior 2013-03-30T03:22:45Z
All public buses are free with UT student ID. They don't come that much often, but I guess it's still good enough to travel around Austin. If you know your bus' schedule, it will be fine.

Ut Austin is amazing! Jester has its own mixed opinion. They're renovating Jester East right now, and designing Jester West next year! The social atmosphere is good. San Jac seems to be very quite but the Jesters are very sociable.

It is very close to the campus! About 15 -20 minutes walk if you live at the West campus area. However, there tends to be parties and lots drunk people at night. Do be careful, but overall, it's great!

Austin is an amazing city. I have lived here my whole life, and I don't plan on leaving. We are the live music capitol of the world, so there are live shows every weekend if not every night. There are also some amazing places to swim, like Barton Springs which is a pool that is a natural spring. I'm not 21, but I'm told 6th street is a great place to drink and have fun at night.

I am an engineering major, so the work load is pretty strenuousness for me, but it might be different depending on your major. I do know that ever class challenges me, and I am amazed at how much I learn in one semester when I take some of these classes.
College Junior 2013-03-26T02:09:07Z
There is always something going on in West campus where most of the students live off campus. Then there is 6th street where all the bars are, so if you are 21 then that's the place to go.
College Junior 2013-03-26T02:07:21Z
You take a pretty extensive online class on it, so i have always felt safe

There is plenty of housing availability. The only downside is that it is pretty expensive. West campus is where most of the students live who like to party, and it is in walking distance to campus. If you don't mind taking a short bus ride it is pretty easy to find affordable housing, but you probably cant walk to campus.
College Senior 2013-03-25T20:24:22Z
Because of the large student population, most students choose to live off campus after freshman year or even as freshmen. The off-campus housing options are great; the only downside is that the closer to campus you are, the more expensive rent will be.

Guys & Girls:
There is quite a wide variety of students at UT Austin, but the majority of the population are home-grown Texans.

Austin is a great city for foodies! There are tons of local restaurants to try, as well as all the classic favorites! Not to mention the food trucks!
College Sophomore 2013-03-25T20:16:45Z
From what I heard it's pretty bad. Spaces are always crowded and its almost impossible to park near campus without some huge fee.
College Junior 2013-03-22T02:34:21Z
If you're 21 and not in a hard major then it's great. Downtown Austin awaits you.

UT is in a wonderful location, smack dab in the middle of a restaurants and parks and close enough to down town that you can take a walk to the capital on one of our many beautiful days. There's always something to do, the people are friendly, and campus comes equipped with a beautiful gym, it's own bowling alley, regular free movie screenings, etc.

While Texas students can still succeed if they make a personal decision to do so, there are a lot of bad decisions being made on any given night. I see drunk people stumbling back to their dorms regularly, and I'm pretty sure some of the homeless people who hang out on the drag are drug dealers.

As a member of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, I feel like one of the luckiest students in America. It's a spectacular program with some of the best scholars in the field. The work load is challenging, even excessive at times, but you'll learn more than you could ever dream of.

The University of Texas at Austin is a world class research University boasting a staff of well known professors who are experts in their fields. That being said, you're only going to get out of them what you put in. Classes are only a small part of the college experience. Get to know your professors and you'll go farther than you ever thought possible.

Easy to use, find, print, etc. Wifi everywhere so a personal computer is fine too.

Austin is crazy. One day it can be cold, the next day it will be up to 90 degrees. I definitely love it though because I get to wear all this different types of clothing.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
