Gets the Job Done, but Could Be Better. There are different food places available to eat but within those place the food items become repetitive. After a semester you will have eaten almost everything at every food place. The dining hall food can be tasty but alittle pricey.

Everyone's Needs Are Met – UT is fantastic at giving students dining options. There are cafeteria styles, fast food, a la carte, food carts etc. And in the dining halls especially every dietary need is absolutely satiated. There are tons of gluten free and vegetarian options for example.

Great Variety – There are many options of housing surrounding UT. Expensive apartments, inexpensive ones, co-ops, Greek housing, dorm like off campus living, even houses in nice neighborhoods. Absolutely something for everyone's tastes and budgets.

My first year off-campus, I got sucked into a cookie-cutter apartment building that was way too pricey. The second year, I thankfully found a smaller place a little farther from campus. It was still pretty expensive, but I shared a one bedroom so the cost was split.

Great Resources – I'm an English major. The professors have been extraordinarily helpful in progressing my writing and analyzing skills. I think each class has made an impact on me. Also, the department has a great detailed website.

Slow to Start – The computers are slow to start, especially when you think you only need 5 seconds to print one thing and it turns into 5 minutes. Then you're late for class.. In the FAC, if more people are online, it takes longer for internet pages to load. Major bummer.

Not Seen So Far – I have been in UT for 2 years and I have never seen students get high because of drugs. However, I did sometime found students get drunk during weekends after coming back from clubs. To reduce this, our school has a mandatory alcohol courses online. It tells us not drive too much and how to help others that are drunk.

Sports Are Everywhere – In UT, sports are everywhere. Guys love to go to gym and work out. Besides, our school offer indoor swimming pool, tennis and volleyball. All those rooms are filled with students. Girls like to go to gym to take exercise classes.

Guys & Girls:
They Play Hard and Work Hard – Both guys and girls in our school love to talk about about sports like a football game held yesterday. They all love to wear t-shirt with shirt pants. They go to club sometimes during the weekends but they are hard-working during weekdays.

I don't really rely on the buses, walking is always an option. Buses I've heard are very crowded and can be unpredictable.

Guys & Girls:
Pretty Attractive – This is a very attractive school, most are in sororities and fraternities though.
College Senior 2012-08-17T22:47:55Z
More Freedom – Freedom is about the only difference from on and off campus housing at UT. The further you are from the campus, the less you'll have to pay. West Campus is pretty much the closest to campus without being on campus, and can come out cheaper if you find a way to lease your apt out over the summer. If you plan on staying in Austin over the summer it becomes a better choice. It gets difficult to find apt the longer you wait and due to the high number of frats/sororities in the area it can be very loud and messy thurs-sat.

Quick and Easy – The UTeach program at UT Austin allowed for easy access to an internship. Within a few weeks I went from nothing to an easy tutoring internship at a local middle school. The internships are extremely flexible, I pretty much make my own schedule and good pay ($12/hr)

The internet service is great at UT, fast, reliable, but if you're looking for a computer at a lab you may find it difficult to find one available. Printing is another hassle, you have to first put money on your ID card, I forget the price but there are few, and ever dwindling, places to get free printing on campus. It helps to be in specific majors *cough*Physics*cough* that offer at least some printing to students.

A Hassle – I only spent 1 year in a dorm at UT and it was mixed for me. There was the convenience of being on campus, slightly easier to get food and ability to meet people. The dorms vary widely in style and comfort, being on an unrenovated floor of Jester was harsh, but livable. Best part of the dorm life was how well my floor seem to get along, that made the experience worthwile.

Offline and in Person – The way to go to get answers fast is through talking to an actual human at UT. The website is often difficult to navigate and does not clearly contain all the answers you may be seeking. The downside to speaking in person is that the phones are usually busy so there is a wait, and if you do not live in Austin during the summer it may be hard to do the call only thing. Otherwise, as far as being able to get financial aid, UT is pretty good about having programs in specific colleges that make finding aid easier, and the few bevonomics things I've been to have been helpful.

Always Something Different – There is an abundance of different foods right next to the UT campus. Most places give better and more food for the same price that the on campus cafeterias cost. Along side the sometimes frightening choices, many of which I've never seen until I got to Austin, are the familiar fast food chains with cheap, familiar food. I've been there 2 years and I am still discovering new places to eat all the time.

Ride Your Bike – The public transportation at UT is a good option and the buses are very effective, but if you want to be on your own schedule and get some exercise while your at it, you should ride your bike. The campus makes it very convenient to ride your bike since they have placed bike racks all through out campus and made the majority of campus only pedestrian or biker friendly.

New Adventure Everyday – Austin is so big, that you couldn't possibly ever see everything it has to offer. If you live in the area you can visit a new restaurant (the food in Austin is awesome!) or a new museum everyday.

Guys & Girls:
Everyone Is So Friendly – You'll find that everyone you see on campus walks by you with their head held high and a smile on their face. You can approach everyone on campus and they will answer your questions or supply you with company.

Awesome Places to Eat! Austin is really a place to eat i think! there are mixture of various cuisines that you can almost taste all the food in Austin, especially near the campus. I am sure that everyone can find a place where they will have the favorite food!

Housing With My Parents – I am living with my parents in apartment but the price and quality of housing is pretty good compared to other places really!

Great System! We have one of the best networks here at UT. Athletics is the big revenue maker for UT Austin and the reason we are a top school. We are world recognized and even showed some of the best athletes at the Olympics in 2012. Just to say we have our very own Network the Longhorn Network from ESPN is very popular in Austin and Texas.
