Don't Know a Lot – Well I'm not really involved in any of that and don't know much about it. I hear a lot of negative things about them and all I really know is that they have a lot of parties and they are almost always crazy.

We definitely get plenty of money to use anywhere we want on campus. We get bevo bucks which can be used on or off campus and then many dine in dollars which can be used at the dining halls on campus. The food itself is mediocre and varies depending on the day but the variety is good and overall I have no complaints.

Gyms and Union Are Amazing – The gyms here are so nice. There are 2 that everyone can use with racquetball courts, basketball courts, weights, work out machines (treadmills, ellipticals, etc). We have many classes and a rock wall as well. The student union has many great locations to eat and hang out and also a movie theater with free screenings of different movies twice a week and a very cheap bowling ally and pool hall as well that are very nice.

It's Boring Here – Austin is a great place but it really limits what you can do depending on your age. I came from the country and have had a hard time adapting to the city life. I have always wanted to go here so that's what makes it so great.

Sports Are Top of the Line – Varsity sports at the University of Texas are pretty huge, especially the way campus treats us. We have wonderful training and workout facilities, including our own trainers, psychologists, and academic advisers. IM sports are pretty huge, too, because anyone can play.

Tuition Is Crazy! University of Texas is the place to go and the people know it. that is why they raise tuition rates so high. It is a great college but is just a little to expensive. With the possibility of receiving a scholarship makes it better.

Enforcement Is Average – kids are carrying illegal substances, but it's concealed

Very Adventursome – There is always something to do around campus and always someone to do it with, whether it be trying a new extracurricular activity, studying, going to a lecture, or partying.

West Campus Is the Way to Go – There is always something going on in west campus no matter what day of the week it is.

OK but Repetitive – The food is not the best, but it suffices. However, it gets very repetitive, dull, and tasteless as the year goes on.

Weather is hardly a problem in Texas. You may find yourself wet on occasion but that's from the cars paying you little respect as they zoom by over puddles.

Everything about the campus was conducted well. Gyms were outstanding, libraries welcoming, and the campus as a whole was inviting.

Labs Are Convenient – Whenever a computer was needed it was readily available. I had no problems with the efficiency of the computers or their overall performance. Everything was great.

Parking in and around campus is next to impossible. We have come to rely on a fairly well run public transport system.

Breeds Cultural Blandness. The greek life at UT is giant and very well connected.

I am in the School of Architecture at UT. I really have enjoyed the experience. Here I am surrounded by impressive faculty and students. Also the resources available such as wood shops and computer labs are amazing.

First of all, UT is the home of the Longhorns. If you live here, you will automatically become involved with the football team spirit this entire town has fallen prey to. Trust me, I still don't even know the rules, but when Texas is out playing some other school, it's time to hit the bars and shout at the screens with your fellow Austinite.

Variety at It's Best – Well, UT is known for it's diversity and you can tell that this is true whenever you walk across campus. If you can think of a lifestyle or group, you'll be able to find people here that fit the bill. However, they seem to stay together, so there is definitely an invisible line seperating all of them.

Nothing Beats the Drag – If you're going to the University of Texas, you have to check out the restaurants on "the drag" near by. From your typical sandwich place to vegan and high society restaurants, they've got it all. Usually the prices tend to increase the further you go, but those places immediately next to campus are unbeatable.

Ditch the Car, Take the Bus – You can get just about anywhere in Austin by bus. UT has shuttles than run every 10 minutes to popular off-campus housing areas. The city of Austin runs a ton of buses all over town - even to the airport every 40 minutes. All of these are free for students. You run into trouble in the later evening hours when the bus runs are limited. There are also buses to Houston and Dallas that cost about $40 round trip. Parking is a pain on and around campus and downtown.

Plenty of Options for Any Price – If you want to live right near campus in one of the fancy apartment complexes, expect to pay A LOT! Head north past campus for cute and decently priced houses. If you need cheap, look in East Austin, even though you're sacrificing convenience and possibly safety. There's also a ton of co-op housing for those looking for ultra inexpensive - but you will have housework to do.

Laid Back or Crazy - Take Your Pick – Austin has everything you could ever want. Whether you're into live music (Austin is home to SXSW), kayaking (Lake Travis), mountain climbing (Mt. Bonnell), sports (UT Longhorns), or partying (6th Street), you'll find something here for you.

It Is Very Lenient – I enjoy the campus strictness. It isn't too strict, but it is strict on certain things that matter.

I honestly dislike every Greek person I know. The crowd is full of the snobbiest people I have ever seen. Greek life is for people who can't make "real" friends.

It's Great – The nightlife in Austin is incredible if you are over twenty one. However, there are limited options if you are not. There are a few 18 and up clubs on 6th Street, but other than that, most people stick to parties.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
