There are plenty of options for living off-campus at UT, but they are ridiculously over-priced. I am not one of the many college students that get everything paid for by their parents, which I am glad to be independent, but there needs to be more options for cheap student housing.

The Campus Food – The menu options should be healthier and more flavorful. I wish they also had a frozen yogurt place on campus. The food also needs more variety.

Walk or Ride – Easy parking for students is almost non existent and everyone suggests that you walk or ride a bike if you live on campus.

Stictness at School – For the most part, the teachers are awesome. Teachers keep my interest, even in the eight o'clock classes.

There are tons of cheap restaurants around school. Austin is home of the greatest Mexican restaurants, and those are definitely my favorites.

San Jac – the San Jacinto dorms are amazing. The area is well kept and neat.Everyone is very friendly, including my Resident Advisor. I am also a vegetarian and on a meal plan. The chef in the food court cooks specially for me!

They are really strict when it comes to on-campus dorming & the main reason is to keep students safe & comfortable. Cameras are at the side doors to watch people coming in and out, and there's a lot of swiping IDs before able to get into your room. A friend of mine got caught sneaking a friend up to her room once, lesson learned.

Typical Smokers – The only drugs I've seen around campus since I've been here is smoking. When you walk around campus 1 out of maybe 40-50 people you see may be holding a cigarette.

UT football had been the most important sport for all of us. Their games bring diverse students together & even parents to come support. The football players also continue the tradition to work really hard to win their games, creating an even more exciting football season to the campus & fans all over!

Greeks Are Not Worth the Trouble. Greek life at UT is somewhat popular but honestly it is no big deal. The only reason to join the greek life is for the parties and the socialize but you don't need to join it for all those things anyways. So becoming a greek is not worth it.

Health & Safety:
Saftey and Security. The saftey is very good. I have never felt uncomforable being in such a place such as Universtiy of Texas. The security is very great. They get along with everyone, and do there jobs very well indeed.

Anything Is Possible – Students in college usually do not make a lot of money, but it is still affordable to live off campus. Austin is the capital of Texas so there are plenty of housing arrangments. This allows students to be independent and get a sense of the real world.

Parking can be a hassle. People can park on campus after certain hours but most of the time parking is hard to find.

Nightlife is for students over 21 years old, but there are many different clubs for 18 and older. You can always go to a frat/sorority party, house party, etc. There's always somewhere to party at UT.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
