Overall, not many people love dorm food, especially on-campus dorm food. Some of the private dorms, such as SRD and Castilian, have pretty good food, but for the most part, Bevo Bucks are the best way to go because they can be used at so many places. The Union is a good bet with many different choices, and Wendy’s is open late, so you can “Eat Great, Even Late.” Jest’A Pizza is a good option. Even though dining hall food may not be your favorite, there is always something to eat because there are so many choices. Even as a vegetarian, there are always plenty of options—though you’ll never be on the Atkins diet because the vegetarian options are mostly carbs.

Students seem to agree that Kinsolving may have the best dining hall on campus. San Jacinto is the newest dorm and has a fairly good reputation for dorm food. Jester’s dining hall gets mixed reviews. A great way to make your on-campus dining experience the best that it can be is with Bevo Bucks. With your on-campus housing contract you are given $300 of Bevo Bucks, which can be used at many different restaurants on and around campus. So when you get sick of dorm food, your meal plan will still give you many other options.
