What does it take to get into UT Austin?

I'm a sophomore by the way lol

I'm going to be applying for it this year, and as far as my research comes out to be, it focuses a lot on class rank, rigorous course load, and standardized test scores (ACT/SAT). But, as with most other colleges, it does look into extracurricular activities, community service, etc.

well i got accepted, I'm 16 in rank of my class, i used to work at a Boys and Girls Club and have had a 1640 for SAT and 22 for ACT.......I'm going to UT Dallas though, since it will be better for my major

Those are the same scores I got except I got a 23 on the ACT. Are you out-of-state? (I am, from New York). UT is my top choice so-far on paper. I just wanted to know if your out-of-state so I could know if I have a shot at UT. Thank You

i will be help if you help me

53/498 in my class, 3.96 weighted GPA, 9 AP classes, 2100 on SAT & 32 on ACT. I'm out of state too, if that helps you get any more info! Good luck[:

thanks everyone! :)

In TX, if you are in the top 8% of your graduating class, you'll get in. If you're out of state, have a good record and essays.

You have to be in the top 8% of your class or better.

UT is a competitive admission school, so you will be compared with other students who are applying for the same major that you are applying for. Therefore, it is good to have a well-rounded application and good GPA.
