Honestly, I like campus dining. It's ridiculously expensive (you get 1400 dine in dollars and a combo meal is $6-10), so you run out of your meal plan early if you don't budget. I live in Jester, which has an à la carte kind of dining hall (JCL), a buffet (J2), and a Wendys (open until 2am). I eat salads and potatoes to stay in budget, but JCL even has specialty salads sometimes. I usually go out on Sundays after church and bring back leftovers from Juan in a Million (very off campus), thus saving money in the long run. Cypress Bend, which is near Jester, has some good food, but I usually don't leave Jester. Kinsolving is like J2, but with better dishes. Littlefield Café has a nice patio area. The Union and the SAC offer Starbucks and Chick-fil-a, among other places. You can eat at non-UT-run places with your Bevo Bucks, which some off-campus retailers take too.
