I do not own a car, simply due to the fact parking at UTD is a nightmare. I usually walk to class, and I observe other students speeding/rushing trying to find a parking spot. Aside from that, I've talked to many people who had to buy parking permits, and they say the prices are outrageous.

UTD computer science program holds the expectations high, so the workload can be challenging but they offer many opportunities for help and fun learning activities. Offer quite a few opportunities to visit with companies for internship/job possibilities

The dining hall offers many choices and variety. They provide light menu choices during "off" hours which helps.

There are multiple computer labs in each "school" or building on campus at UTD. The library holds additional student study areas and available computers. Even when the area is crowded, many students use their own laptops, so it is usually not difficult to find or access an empty computer station.
The wireless network is extremely reliable for those with their own computers as well and more than enough available seating/study areas are provided.

On campus dining is readily available at UTD, though it does not carry every and all options for, say, Vegans or Gluten-free seekers, (which seem to be an increasing population) but it is convenient and there decent options.
Even commuters will not have trouble finding places to eat nor finding the Dining Hall itself.
Additionally, the campus is generally quiet and provides seating and areas to eat along any path it takes to get to class. No weird looks and no judgmental stares are directed towards people enjoying their meal along the fountain wall or under a shady tree or in any of the park areas.

On campus parking is very well planned out and labeled. It is driver-friendly even for visitors, and allows students and employees to navigate stress-free.
Granted, the University of Texas at Dallas as a fair amount of commuters--meaning, that the parking lots are far from empty most of the time--but finding available parking spots never seems to be a lengthy process, when short on time.
The parking at UTD deserves an A++ in this category, especially after a few visits where you will naturally discover more parking lots and options that allow you to be as close as possible to where you need to be.

The University of Texas at Dallas has many different organizations and multiple facets for students to become involved in. Similar to other campuses, Greek life on campus is included in this and holds a positive and productive aura of philanthropy, community, and, above all, spirit.
While the "Greeks" do not dominate the focus of nor entirely represent the population of all UTD students, it does reflect the greater sense of student diversity and the range of student potential and efforts in and outside of our school environment.

Besides a few restaurants, there isn't much to do around the Richardson area.

They have multiple buses for students on a schedule that are very convenient.

No one really knows much about athletic events at UTD unless you are within the same niche group of friends as the athletes themselves. We don't have a football team, it that says anything. Rugby, soccer, and women's basketball seem to be the most important athletic events here.

Police force sometimes unnecessarily follow students around and occasionally speed through campus for no apparent reason. Generally, though, unless it's alcohol or drug related, you should be fine.

Texas heat kills everyone in the summer, but fall, spring, and winter are usually pretty moderate. Also, what is snow?

UTD is very strict on academic dishonesty as well as delinquency. We have a student led disciplinary committee to keep things in line

UTD is a very rigorous school and the professors are very helpful with most things

There is very much campus life; it doesn't feel like a real college

Texas weather is unpredictable. There is no real effect on the campus experience.

UTD has been ranked amongst the top 25 most diverse campuses in the country. We have a large international population. I would say 1 out of 3 students comes from a different cultural/ethnic backgrounds.

The computer labs are ususally very crowded at peak times on the UTD campus, specifically in the library. I know that the campus has more computer labs within different departments, however if you are not apart of that department it would be difficult for you to find out where these are located on campus. A map of computer labs would most certainly be be beneficial.

I am currently a student at University of Texas Dallas. I have been very pleased with the program thus far. The program is very demanding and often teachers fail to remember that their class is not the only class we are taking. It is most certainly a challenge but I know I will be well prepared for my career once I graduate.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
