Off campus dining isn't a far walk, but still pricy.

Among and close to the University there are only restaurants that are fast food and that is kind of expensive for students.

Food options run the standard lineup of McDonald's, Whataburger (Texas chain), Taco Bell, and pizza places. There are around 3 restaurants within walking distance of the campus, but to go anywhere else, you'll have to drive or carpool with a friend. Depending on your parking options and the time of day, this can be problematic, since you run the risk of losing your spot and not being able to find a place to park when you get back. Prices are typical of fast food chains, though the lack of substantial student discounts is disappointing. Of the restaurants available the best option is usually Sonic's, as it's a rather cheap and high-quality fast food joint, though the lack of an indoor setting to eat there can be a problem. Overall, the dining off-campus really depends on whether or not you have a car or you're willing to walk to get lunch.

many people commute, so there is little to no choice.
Also, expect to have a stock of food for past 7:30 pm.
