There's a Lot of Options – There are many places to go to from the campus, just by walking. Central Market, a high end Texan grocery store is located right by the campus, and their food is AMAAZING, though a little on the pricey side. Across the streets there are many fast food joints such as McDonalds, and as well as independently own restaurants, so you get that feeling of intimacy just walking around. There's a variety to pick, but since the school is located in the heart of San Antonio, even driving to a good place is not too far of an option.

I transferred into the University of the Incarnate Word from Hawaii. Have only heard great things about the school from the community, and experienced a friendly and cultivating learning environment on campus. Class sizes are small, and you get that "School family" type of atmosphere from everybody. UIW is a Catholic private school, but in no way do you feel that religion dominates the atmosphere. In fact, you are encouraged to believe in whatever you want, just as long as you grow stronger in those beliefs in your time at UIW.

Small Classrooms – Close to downtown San Antonio,TX. Feels like a close community. Friendly people. Small classes. Has a good Optometry and Pharmacy program . University has great relationships with surrounding businesses. The campus is just the right size.

Large Population of Hispanics – Great acceptance atmosphere. A lot of Catholics but you don't have to be to attend. Good kids attend this school. Great community feeling.

I enjoy how small UIW is and the tight nit community

I chose UIW because it has a small class room atmosphere just like my high school. I also enjoy the aspect of religion with UIW being a Catholic School. I enjoy going to UIW overall.

Computers at UIW are the very best, the printing cost aren't too bad but as much as I pay for school, maybe it should be included in that tuition, the network is ok as well and could be faster and more reliable. Having a personal printer would be nice so I didn't have to pay for printing.

Words Inside Scoop – This schools ADCAP program is very good for the working individual. It geared for acceleration so that we can get on with our careers.

Since this is an satillite campus that I attend there are not many students that attend. Most Students are the main campus. I am not aware of any Greek life that goes on.

The San Antonio nightlife is very vibrant and fun. There is the well now Riverwalk. This is generally a hopping place for good food, drinks and dancing. And for those who are not into drinking and dancing especially those under the age of 21, there is always the Majestic Theater for a Broadway show or the SA Symphony.

The Buildings in General – The majority of the buildings are old. This makes sense; considering the school has been around over 100 years. Supposedly some really old dorm is haunted. There is a lot of construction however and a lot of things are being rebuilt and made new.

the permit costs are like $100
ticketing and fines range from $20 to $300
i would say you need a car for campus. its a small school so you get bored easily.
parking isn't all that grade. you have to get there early to get good parking spots.
College Senior 2012-03-11T03:50:38Z
The diversity of the campus isn't all that great. Since it is a religious school, everyone makes it known of their beliefs but aren't extremely comfortable with the homosexual lifestyle. I'm not gay but have friends that are, and witnessed how they sometimes get treated. Religious life is great but need to open doors for other faiths.

Religious Studies – You get a better understanding of the classes and you connect with your professors on another level. The workload can become difficult if you don't keep up with all your other classes. There are wonderful opportunities to get involved with campus ministry and so forth.

THE PROCESS OF GETTING INTO A DPT PROGRAM IS VERY COMPETITIVE AND IS A LENGTHY PROCESS. YOU MUST HAVE AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE OF SOME SORT, TAKE THE GRE, HAVE OBSERVATION HOURS, GET LETTERS OF REFERENCE, SEND ALL TRANSCRIPTS, PAY APPLICATION FEE, FILL OUT THE APPLICATION FORMS AND FINALLY GET PICKED TO GET AN INTERVIEW. THE INTERVIEW PROCESS IS ABOUT FOUR TO FOUR AND A HALF HOURS AND CONSISTS OF THREE GROUP INTERVIEWS AND ONE MOCK PROBLEM BASED LEARNING CLASS. ALTHOUGH THE PROCESS IS LONG, AS IS WITH ANY PT SCHOOL, THE STAFF AND INSTRUCTORS ARE AWESOME! THEY ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP AND GUIDE YOU WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.

SPEEDING AND PARKING PERMITS – THE UNIVERSITY TAKES PARKING PERMITS, OR THE LACK THERE OF, AND SPEEDING ON CAMPUS VERY SERIOUSLY. THE CAMPUS POLICE ENSURE THE SAFETY OF EVERY STUDENT AS WELL AS MAKING SURE THOSE WHO PAID FOR A PERMIT HAVE AVAILABLE PARKING.

SUPPORTIVE SCHOOL COMMUNTIY – THE SCHOOL AND THE STUDENTS ARE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND HAVE ALL THE SCHOOL SPIRIT IN THE WORLD! EVEN IF THINGS DO NOT GO OUR WAY, WE STILL FEEL LIKE WINNERS.

UIW is a very small and diverse campus. The scenery around campus is so pretty. It is located between the Hill Country and the rolling South Texas Plains. There is not really that much to do on campus because it is mainly a commuter school. Otherwise, the campus is beautiful, acient, historic, and powerful in its modern-day technologies and facilities.

San Antonio: the City of the Alamo – San Antonio is a great city to live in because there is so much to do here. Most of the residents living in the city limits or in Bexar County are nice and outgoing. There are so many resturants in San Antonio and lots of shopping malls, and amusement parks and places. Great place to visit anytime of the year.

Very Diverse – We have alot of International students. And a great mix of all kinds of students

The athletic student body is a diverse on, consisting of students from other countries that are given the opportunity to compete here. The facilities and training are not that great unless you are on the football team which pretty much gets a weight room to themselves.

There is a large diversity of races and religions at Incarnate Word. There are many students from the Middle East and European countries.
