Ironically, from what I've noticed at Incarnate Word, is that the biggest drug scene is within the athletes. Alcohol is a major factor is all the social gatherings, but drug use is at a bare minimum. Drugs are definitely offered to students at these social gatherings, but it is often turned down. Peer pressure is always going to be there, but it is nothing extreme or to the point of making someone uncomfortable. For the most part, if you say "No," it will be respected. Policy enforcement is effective as strong as it could be. Students/athletes are always going to drink and some will do drugs, its inevitable. However, the random drug testing and punishment when caught with these substances does seem effective and prevent some from putting themselves in such a position.
