Pretty much every building, including residence halls, is equipped with recycling bins. Also, the cafeteria offers a plastic container for those who take food to go as an alternative to using styrofoam containers.

Light the Way: Every year during late November, a ceremony is held to turn on the Christmas lights on the trees.
Urban Legends
Colbert Hall and Dubuis Hall are said to be haunted by nuns. Supposedly in Colbert, a nun hung herself and now haunts the rooms. In Dubuis, it is said that there is a "welcoming nun" who died of old age who welcomes incoming freshmen, not just at the beginning of school, but all year long.

There is always something to do at UIW, with many events happening almost daily. Most of the campus events take place in Marian Ballroom, located at the Marian Student Center.
