Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Overall, UIW is a pretty safe campus thanks to the UIW Police Department. As a small campus, UIW does not encounter many crimes other than the usual car vandalizing or theft. The campus police are very easy to spot and are always looking out for the safety of the students, whether it is directing traffic at the exits and entrances at rush hour or checking for IDs when students are coming back to campus after a night out with friends. Students do not have a curfew, but if coming back after midnight, they are required to come in through the main entrance and show their university ID. If students wish to report an incident, they may do so online through the UIW website under the Campus Police section.

Getting sick is never on anyone's schedule, but just in case you come down with a cold or the flu, or whatever your situation may be, the Campus Health Center is the place to go. The health center is available to all students and faculty, and students are seen on a walk-in basis. Health insurance is available for all students. Students enrolled for 12 or more credit hours are automatically charged for the insurance, which protects students not only at school but also when they travel or go home.
