A great thing about coming to UIW is that it is located in San Antonio, a grand city full of life and culture. There is a lot to do! For starters, downtown San Antonio is located just a few minutes away. There, you can walk around the famous Riverwalk, or even ride a boat in the river. Ripley's Believe it or Not, located right across from the Alamo, is one of the main attractions for people of all ages, so if you happen to have younger siblings in town, Ripley's would be a great place to take them.

You will always look quite fashionable at UIW, since San Antonio has many tasteful shopping centers. The closest ones to UIW are the Rivercenter Mall, the Alamo Quarry Market, and Northstar Mall. They each have their own unique touch to the shopping experience. If roller coasters and the Looney Tunes are your thing, Six Flags is the place to go. Or perhaps you would like to hang with Shamu at Sea World. If you do end up coming to UIW, it would be a good idea to invest in a season pass for either of these theme parks so that you can enjoy them all year round!
