University of Utah - Campus StrictnessCollege Prowler2.31
College Prowler Take
The U has a strict zero-tolerance policy toward alcohol on campus and in the dorms. But because most alcohol-related incidents are simply alcohol-related and don’t result in vandalism, sexual assault, theft, or other crimes, cops and U administrators are content to look the other way most of the time. But heaven help you if your drunkenness leads you to make a public nuisance of yourself, or even just bother your neighbors. Cops pay a lot of attention to parties on Greek Row, where complaints from the neighbors about noisy parties have created an atmosphere of distrust and resentment.
When it comes to campus strictness, the so-called “Parking Nazis” are at the top of the list of villains. If you go 10 seconds over on your parking meter, expect a ticket. If it’s your third unpaid ticket, expect to be booted.

Campus police are not particularly lenient about drinking, but given the social structure of the place, they basically content themselves to busting the fraternities for noise complaints and underage drinking. |
