Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

UVM housing options span a few different campuses. Main Campus, the Athletic Campus (also called East Campus), and Redstone Campus are the most popular. UVM’s purchased the campus of the former Trinity College's in Burlington, which has increased the availability of on-campus housing. Most people try to avoid Main Campus because the rooms are small and cramped, but it is almost exclusively freshmen, providing a close-knit community.

The Living/Learning Complex rooms are more comfortable. They have a suite-style setup, bathrooms shared by four to six residents, and a common area. Why so nice? Students must apply and be accepted to a program, which subsequently entails extra work. For students who get stuck with a roommate who never studies, most dorms at UVM have adequate places to study. Additionally, every room is hooked up with free cable and high-speed Internet connection. UVM does not offer many alternatives to the basic dorm room, with the notable exception of Living/Learning, but the required two years of on-campus housing allows students to develop important ties to UVM, both socially and individually.

Campus Housing at University of Vermont

Great Locations

The dorms at UVM are varied, with some of substantially higher quality than others simply by virtue of being newer. Beyond that, the various campus areas all have their own advantages and disadvantages, but all with an excellent environment and good living conditions. The room and board expenses are quite high, however.

Dorms Are Awesome but I'd Rather Live Off Campus

I live in WDW, so I lucked out for a first-year, but overall, all of the dorms are fine. It's dorm life, what are you expecting?

Anything but Central Campus Dorms

All the dorms are relatively large and new, except for the ones on central campus. atleast they are close to classes.
