Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The University of Vermont is a fairly large school, and with it comes a number of facilities. While some take solace in a morning run around the track, others may prefer to work out in the fitness center and enjoy the panoramic view of the sun burning away at the frost. Likewise, students may prefer to study among their peers in the library or immerse themselves in a book near the fireplace in Billings. Depending on your preference, there is likely a little taste for you. UVM provides students with a number of facility options ranging from the solitude of secret study places to the flurry of high-octane hockey games.

The athletic facilities are simply beautiful, which is due to the University's commitment to provide its students with updated equipment. Best of all, the whole facility overlooks the soccer field and offers unobstructed views of the Green Mountains. UVM also has a number of indoor basketball hoops, an indoor track, indoor tennis courts, an ice rink, a climbing wall, and a dance studio. In addition, the athletic complex offers daily and weekly classes in cardio-jam, kickboxing, and yoga. The Billings Student Center houses numerous places to study, the University radio station, club spaces, and the school’s newspaper, Vermont Cynic.

All Around Great!

The facilities are great all around. The dorms are spacious, and inviting. The gym is very complete with running tracks, tennis courts, a pool, exercise equipment, rock climbing wall and more! The dining halls serve quality food and are designed in an aesthetic modern way. Classrooms are accessible and generally clean and welcoming. Other aspects of the campus are also very welcoming, clean, and modern, this is a very pretty campus both inside and out.

NOT Again

When a school is already outrageously expensive, and plans to raise tuition over the next 5 years for a medicore education at best somethings wrong. When they spend more money on walkways and new dorms instead of the education itself, there's something fishy going on. As for me, any appeal the school held quickly dropped. state of the art..not really

Facilities: Some Old, Some New.

I was a varsity athlete the past two years. The pool, indoor track, and turf are sub par. The gym overlooks the mountains but can sometimes get very crowded. The Davis Center is new, built in 2007 It is mostly used as a building to walk through or wait a couple of hours before your next class. The four floored library has wi-fi and desk top computers. Intramural sports, and clubs are popular amongst students. Ski club is the largest club on campus. Construction is always being done on campus, but half the buildings still need to be redone.

Favorite Things To Do

Head to the Davis Center Atrium for a quick game of pool between classes, or if you’re done for the day and looking to relax (and 21 years old), grab a local brew in Brennan’s Pub, also on the first floor. Check your e-mail at one of the Davis Center’s many computer stations or grab a coffee at Henderson’s Café. You’ll know it’s spring when the green is filled with students and Frisbees. Also, keep an eye out for the once-a-year Wingfest and make sure to grab tickets to the Fallfest and Springfest concerts.
