Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

More than anything else, students cannot get over the quality, the ambiance, and the choices of Burlington’s plethora of restaurants and eateries. Nearly every cuisine from all corners of the globe are represented here. In a town with so many different places to eat, it is hard for most to pick an absolute favorite. And as far as choosing a place, one student put it most appropriately, “The best way is to experience them.” Even in this small town, there is a big-city feel when it comes to the food establishments and international dining.

As you begin you first semester here, off-campus dining may not seem like a priority. You have meals provided by the University, and it will appear to be abundant at first. However, your satisfaction with the school’s food will begin to fade. Luckily for you, there are several restaurants off campus ranging from eclectic ethnic dishes to traditional American fare. Each establishment has its own specialties. Whether it be breakfast, a night out with your new flame, or dinner with your parents, there are enough choices to keep the experience a pleasant one. Prices vary too, with dinners ranging from around the 10 dollar mark to well over 25, just for the main course. Be adventurous and try new places, even if you think you’ve found a favorite.

Church Street Madness

Church Street is loaded with restaurants pricey and cheap. It's also very busy later at night; quite the hot spot.

Off-Campus Dining

There are a variety of places throughout Burlington and South Burlington. The best place to check out is Church Street. Although some places can be expensive, going out for lunch is typically very cheap. Three Tomatoes is great for Italian. Penny Cluse and Mirabelle's are the best breakfast/brunch places.
