Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Public transportation is hit or miss but usually easy and reliable. On campus, it is plentiful and easy, but in downtown, it is a little harder to secure a ride. UVM is just a stone's throw from downtown Burlington, and the city itself is actually relatively small, so while there is public bus transportation, sometimes it’s quicker just to walk. When you live in an isolated area, walking is favorable. However, when the winter months come, it may be unbearable to venture downtown on foot. If you know the bus schedule well enough, you’re not likely to run into too many problems.

Burlington is certainly small enough that every corner can be reached by foot, and because of this, most students don’t utilize or need public transportation. For those who do or who want it, transportation is present. The buses in Burlington are inexpensive, and for the most part, convenient. The ways out of town—via bus, train, or plane—are reasonably priced and available. Ultimately, it is a convenient and stress-free way to take the hassle out of parking or worrying about a car when driving in a city that is filled with pedestrians.

Transportation

It is very easy to get around campus. It is a short walk across campus, therefore easy to get around. There are also busses that usually run every 15 minuets during the day, and every half hour at night.
