Great for Me, but Not for Others

I haven't had any problems with UVa's financial aid, however I have only just completed my first year, and many of my upperclassmen friends have. Typically, the problems are easy to resolve if you actually go to the financial aid office, but it is quite a ways away, which is tedious, especially when the problems are things that are their fault. I will say that they are generous with the amount of money that they give, and many of my friends did get some sort of aid. My advice to future students is to just stay on top of them so that nothing major pops up.

Could Offer More Scholarships

I received a decent amount of financial aid, but I wish they could offer more scholarships. Being an RA plus with my financial aid definately helps, but the University could do more. Also, apply for financial aid EARLY, never wait till the last minute, because your could get less aid.

Don't Bother Unless Your Parents Dont Make Any Money

Financial Aid in general is a pain in the butt and they screw up the paperwork often. UVA doesn't offer any academic scholarships, only need based, so unless your parents do not have any money or are unemployed, good luck getting any financial aid. I only have my moms salary and they still didn't give me anything. Other people got tons if their family income is less than $25,000. I would recommend applying to tons of private/national scholarships instead
