Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

When Stout students walk across the stage during their commencement ceremony, they are filled with emotions and memories, feelings of excitement about the future and sadness for a journey coming to an end. More than anything, UW-Stout provides opportunity and community. Once you set your roots at Stout, you’ll never want to leave. The perfect size of the student body allows students to build a community of friends that last a lifetime. Community is built in many different ways and venues—the classroom between a class and the instructor, in the residence halls between residents, at an on-campus job between coworkers, and between teammates on an intramural team. These are just a few ways that students make connections with each other, as well as with people within the Menomonie community.

Stout provides a world of opportunity in and out of the classroom. Students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with their professors, to start and lead their own campus organizations, to take their education abroad, to manage a restaurant on campus, to challenge themselves, to apply theories, to reach new heights on the climbing wall, and to make decisions for the entire campus by participating in student government. The opportunities that students take advantage of at Stout will lead to even greater opportunities after graduation. Attending UW-Stout is not just an education; it is an experience.

Enough, but Not a Variety

The dining on campus is okay. There are plenty of places to go eat, and plenty of food at all of these places. However they all have the same food, day after day. It gets very repetitive and makes you want to go out to eat more than usual.

Not a Whole Lot to Do

Menomonie is not that big of a town, and there is not a whole lot to do there. There are parks you can go to and a walking trail, but not really any attractions. There is not any shopping to do. I give it a C plus becuase the people are very welcoming and very nice. It is also not very far from bigger cities where there are things to do. I guess it is nice to be in a smaller town sometimes.

Did Not Recieve Any Aid

I have not recieved any financial aid at this school. I have applied for it every year and I have completed three years at this school. I have just recently applied again for my fourth year and I am waiting for the results. I do not understand why I am not eligable for financial aid becuase I do not have the money to afford these kinds of loans, and my parents dont either.
