Guys & Girls:
The majority of the guys are either complete douche bags or they look like they are fifteen.

It's very equal, all students in the school must follow the provisions

Health & Safety:
Police are monitoring, and there are blue emergency lights spread throughout campus if you feel threatened. Typical safety precautions are not to leave your valuables unlocked, and to walk with a friend if you are leaving the bar at 2am.

The students get free bus passes, and the buses go throughout the greater Madison area. You really don't need a car. There are also several taxi companies if you don't want to ride in public. There are bike trails all over the city as well, so you can bike many places if you want to be totally green. There are community car programs that give a student discount, and have pick-up locations around campus and off. Great for getting around.

The teams are making sure they put forth great effort, and the student support and spirit is some of the best in the country! UW-Madison is a great place if you are a student athlete, a great sports fan, and even if you've never watched a game. The spirit will sweep you away.

UW is really good at updating the facilities and keeping up with state of the art technology. They make a large effort to keep things green and help the environment in creative ways.

Athletics are awesome at UW. Everyone has badger pride. Our teams usually do really well, and the whole campus gets pumped up on game days.

Student life on campus is very vibrant and full of life. There are many places to study and meet people, but the one thing that I would criticize is the amount of construction each year. Though I love that the school is keeping things updated, it is annoying.

As a Psychology major, I am working with a large body of students that are all going to be competing with me one day for a job. However, some students fail to decide to specialize in the field early on, which makes them less likely to get the jobs that more qualified graduates will get. I have honed in my major to a very specific field and because of this, I feel I will be more prepared and qualified when applying for jobs.

I think the staff is extremely understanding and eager to help students that are struggling, or want to go above and beyond what is expected of them. Professors and TA act as though they are here to work for the students, not that the students are a bother to them in any way.

I absolutely love going to school here. There has been so much renovation the last several years that the campus has the perfect mixture of old and new. There is a lot of focus on going green both outside and inside in different campus locations and there is a lot done to keep the facilities looking nice and to keep them usable for years to come.

The freshman and sophomore dorms are really nice, they take really good care of the facilities in the Lakeshore area and everyone who lives there has is proud to say that they come from the housing on the lake.

They offer a free "safe" option for getting home late at night.

I haven't been in the doctoral program in Cell and Molecular Pathology very long, but so far so good. Nothing to seriously complain about. Overall, though, the university is good about having a diverse spread of majors.

For the most part, the on-campus options are the same as the off-campus options. Many off-campus restaurants are covered by the meal plans too, which is cool.

People go out every night, which is facilitated by the incredible public transportation system Madison has in place. Almost all dance clubs let in underagers, but for the most part, any place that serves alcohol is going to be 21+ after 9pm.

The seasonal winters are COLD, and sometimes a bit harsh. But they make you feel as though you are in Wisconsin. The entire school is built for the winter (underground tunnels FTW!), which helps. The summers are unrealistically hot, however. Be prepared to keep a fan or A/C unit around for the 25% of the year when you'll be glad you had it.
College Sophomore 2012-11-05T23:41:55Z
The first thing everyone notices about Madison is how NICE the people here are! People just do their own thing, completely undisturbed, and the sports culture here is literally legendary.

i am living in the apartment called Lucky next year and it has a very prime location. great off campus options.

i have only had pre college internships and they were unpaid and they were not much of a time commitment.

no real process of getting to be an art major. you just have to keep up with the studio credits you need to get a BA or BFA in the program.

The university is large and attracts a huge variety of people from all over the state, the country, and the world. Madison has a reputation as a welcoming, open-minded community that takes pride in making its global university community feel at home.

The bus is surely the most convenient way for students, even those with cars who prefer not to drive downtown, to get to campus. Most students live close or relatively close, so the bus is a free option (comes free with enrollment) and the lines are great, and generally coincide well with class times.
