Hard and Easy – Although my experience so far is that the classes are relatively easy thanks to bell curves the classes grading scale can tend to cause a lot of work.

Buses Are a Life Saver – There is free public transportation and the buses are relatively reliable making transportation very easy and worth while.
College Senior 2010-12-30T03:28:05Z
Parking prices are not only exorbitant but there is no true point to parking. Thanks to a deal struck between the University and the public transportation there is free public transportation for all students. not to mention the ease of walking to classes which would require so much less time than driving and then looking for a parking spot.

Guys & Girls:
In the party scene there can be found a large amount of extremely attractive females but at the same time a large amount of these girls do not appear to be "dateable".

Dont Expect Any Aid. Aid is not given to out of state students although we are undoubtably more in need of it than the in state students. Furthermore Financial aid is a broken system nationwide harming middle class families and Wisconsins aid does nothing to help these students.

Punishment Are Severe – If you pick the lakeshore dorms watch out for noise violations. It is ridiculous the obscenely low amount of noise that can get you written up.

They are difficult to get.
What little is available, tends to be squandered on a few of the professors' "Favorites"!

Apt. Hell in Madison – Most of it sucks. Unless you can afford one of the new private luxury dorms, the local housing stock tends to be old, unattractive, and it all looks the same. (chiefly "A"-frame)

Health & Safety:
UWPD Suck – The real danger here are the UW Police themselves.
They have little real criminality to deal with, and thus have ample time to harass and intimidate people, often without cause.

Teach Me How To Bucky – Want overall elite levels of athletic competition, to participate in or observe as a fan? Look no further than the University of Wisconsin-Madison. OUr football is a powerhouse. The men's basketball team competes for the Big Ten Conference title every. Single. Year. Our men's and women's hockey teams are outstanding, reaching the postseason Frozen Four and winning the National Championship repeatedly in the last decade. And the facilities, most notably Camp Randall (football) and the Kohl Center (basketball/hockey) are as good as it gets in the entire country. Come be a part of our school in showing others "How To Bucky". A winning mentality in all things Madison.

Improving Yearly – While there is a big majority of white students, all other races are present and accepted.

The computers and labs at UW are a definite strong suit at the university. We have the newest Apple computers and software, with clean and organized facilities. The labs are spacious enough to accommodate hundreds of students studying. And the wi-fi around campus is fantastic.

As many others have already stated, the University of Wisconsin-Madison is the best college campus and overall university in America. In all honesty, we have the best combination of academics, athletics, campus, nightlife/party scene, professors, school spirit, student body, course offerings, chancellor, facilities and campus. You cannot go wrong here, and the best thing is: there's something for everybody. Come see why because you will never regret it.

To put it plain and simple, any kind of food you could possibly want to enjoy is at your fingertips when attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Just two minutes north of campus lies State Street, a pedestrian street with shopping stores, bars, and of course restaurants galore. Resting just off beautiful Lake Mendota, State Street offers privately owned gems and chain restaurants alike for a decently affordable price. A must see location with incredible food and diversity.

From the South East Recreational Facility to the numerous libraries, this university's facilities are superb. Dining halls and the Memorial Union prove to be great facilities at Madison; the Kohl Center (basketball/hockey) is the best there is! Not to mention historic Camp Randall (football). The newer dorms and brand new student Union South are top-of-the line in regards to cleanliness, technology, architecture and style. Definitely noticeable and a plus when attending this university.

Parties Allll the Time. If you want a party, you can most certainly find it. The frats have parties every weekend, open but you should know someone, or you can go to a house party, which usually will cost five dollars. You walk everywhere, no need for designated drivers here! You can get a fake and go to the bars if you want - lots of out of state people do that. As people get older/turn legal they also tend to hit the bars and stay away from sketchy parties.

COLD COLD COLD – So, Madison is a special place. It's nice from August till mid-November. Then it gets SO COLD. We just had our first snow and it's bitterly cold and so slippery! Definitely invest in a good pair of boots (with traction) and a good winter coat. Classes won't be cancelled for weather except in rare cases (20 inches of snow) so prepare to bundle up and get out there.

Game Days! Game days are amazing! There is so much school spirit. You wake up early, get drunk, and walk with 30,000 other people to Camp Randall. Jump Around is UNREAL and it's just the best day.

Many Options – There are many dorms at UW-Madison (17 public, a few more private) and they're all fairly nice. There are two areas: Southeast and Lakeshore. Southeast is known for having more parties (though there are dorms sort of in the Southeast area that are more studious) and Lakeshore is much more quiet, and far from parties. It is great if you like nature, though. Mostly out of state students live in the private dorms. They are nicer and you do get your own bathroom there, but if you're from Wisconsin you may not fit in. Generally most freshmen live in dorms, and they move off campus after that, though there are some sophomores in the dorms.
College Senior 2010-11-29T06:08:42Z
Food Plan – If you live on campus, you have a housing food account. This gets you 60% off anything prepared on campus, and 15% off anything that isn't, like bottled soda. This is convient for those who like to pick and choose, and don't eat a lot. However, if you do eat a lot, it would be nicer if they had a meal plan where each meal is cafiteria - all you can eat - style for one flat rate.
College Senior 2010-11-29T06:05:24Z
State Street – There are many places to go eat on State Street. It's about a 10-15 minute walk if you are in the far Lakeshore dorms, but the bus can get you there just as easily. The restraunts range from really cheap to somewhat expensive, but you can always find one that has food to fit your cravings.
College Senior 2010-11-29T06:00:19Z
Computer Access – You can access a computer at almost any time. each building has it's own computer lab, and printing is consistant through campus. However, if you have a computer in your dorm, you are not guarenteed WiFi access, because it is only in your den. You need to either bring a wireless router or an eathernet cable to ensure your personal web access in your dorm room.

Game Days Are Amazing – Wisconsin game days are a legacy in and of themselves. Everybody on campus is partying and ready to cheer on our Badgers to a win.

There's a Lot of Variety – There's a lot of variety in students at UW-Madison. There are people of every race, every ethnicity, and every socioeconomic background as far as I know. There are a lot of hot guys but also some not-so-hot guys.

UW Is Unique – My overall experience at UW Madison has been great. You actually learn a lot in school and there is always something to do. There are sporting events, shows, extracurricular activities and great entertainment venues.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
