There is a drug scene on campus, but it's much less noticeable than the drinking scene. You can go out every night to drink and not see any drugs. But, of course, it does depend on who you hang out with. There is a drug scene, but you almost have to go looking for it. I would say drugs are not a large issue on campus.

The campus dining options were revamped last year (2012) and now include more options than you can get a grasp of in one visit to a dining hall. The choices are diverse, and there are plenty of ways to get your fill without breaking the bank. My only complaint is that some of the smaller dining halls have strange hours that didn't always work around my schedule when I was eating in the dorms.

We have students from around the world attending UW-Madison. I've had classes where there were at least as many white students as there were non-white students (or less, possibly), even in large classes. We have many student organizations dedicated to allowing and spreading diversity. Diversity is here, and Wisconsin is very accepting of it.

Computer labs are good. Printing on campus is good. My dorm has terrible phone and computer issues. It's new and they are working out the "bugs".

Sports are huge at UW. Great workout facilities. School spirit is best in US.

I am in a great dorm. It has all amenities one would want--food court, convenience store, health clinic, computer lab, security.

My freshman year I had my tuition almost completely covered with financial aid. Still, that left me with high-priced housing to take care of on my own, and my second year, I barely got half of my tuition in financial aid. Student loans were offered in an amount that would cover all my costs, but student loans are scarily expensive in the long run.

Health & Safety:
For the most part, I feel pretty safe here. But with a recent string of robberies, assaults, and guns being fired, I'm very uneasy walking alone after dark.

Computer labs on campus are pretty much as expected. There definitely aren't enough convenient places to print though if you don't have time to get over to one of the libraries.

I never lived in campus housing...

Besides having some of the best sports programs in the nation, we have THE best student fan base.

I am not sure about how the other departments handle scholarships, but the College of Agricultural Sciences (CALS) does give out generous amounts of money to scholarship recipients. It all comes down to you completing your scholarship application as early as possible.

It is extremely difficult to find a good parking space here in Madison (especially if you are trying to park near State Street or the capital). However, as you travel outside of the city, parking is a lot more convenient. You really do not need a car on campus, because the bus system is very good. If you need to go anywhere you cannot walk, the buses will usually go there. Also, every registered student is given a bus pass to use throughout the school year, and it can even be used during the summer.

The Badger family is very strongly united. Everyone, ranging in age from 5 to 85, loves to hang out on the Memorial Union Terrace right on Lake Mendota. On gamedays, age doesn't matter, either. Everyone is best friends with each other and will gladly sing our school song arm-in-arm at Camp Randall Stadium.

Most students who are not freshmen live off campus at the UW. There is a wide range of housing offered, but many good options are quite expensive.

The University of Wisconsin - Madison offers top-notch academics, Big 10 Football and Basketball athletics, an insane range of academic programs/majors/clubs/teams, thriving and growing Greek life, and a beautiful campus situated between two lakes.

I am majoring in International Studies: Culture In an Age of Globalization, French Language, and Spanish Language & Hispanic Studies. I would not be able to triple major and graduate on time (early, actually) if I were not able to interweave each of the programs. The workload is intense, but very fascinating.

The academics at Madison are top-notch. We are consistently rated with titles such "most interesting professors." Everyone I know is very happy with all of their classes and curriculum.

There are many different dining hall options for both neighborhoods on campus. in addition to the dining halls there are so many great restaurants on State Street and around campus that you will never go hungry. You can also go to the farmers market in the fall and spring and stock up on great local produce.

-Lots of options (house, apartment, etc.)
-Student friendly companies
-Close to campus, groceries, stores, etc.
-VERY limited parking which is also VERY expensive

The University of Wisconsin's Psychology program is the third best psych program in the nation; that being said, it is definitely an academic challenge. However, I feel like I am fully prepared to enter graduate school with a well rounded understanding of my field of study. My classes, our Psi Chi club on campus, and being in a psych research lab have all prepared me for a successful future career in the field. I would like to enter a 3 year master's program for school psychology to be a psychologist in an elementary school in the future. I do not have any concerns finding a job, because this is a field where there are always job openings!

I've found a studio not even 2 miles away for $280 a month! bus stop near by and various places to eat/shop/have fun. the downside though...I have to come to terms with living in a tiny box from time to time.
