Advice on Finding a Job/Internship UW offers several career advising programs throughout its specific schools. The earlier you get in touch with these offices, the easier it will be post-graduation. Even if you are a freshman coming in with no specific major, these people can connect you to different academic programs that may help spark an interest. Cross-college advising counselors are knowledgeable of majors throughout the school and they can help undecided students narrow their choices. For those already set on a career path, the counselors here will link you to information about your choice job, alumni already in the field, and internship opportunities. The different schools within the University, such as engineering, business, medicine, law, and journalism, have internship listings, a hiring employer database, and names of academic support groups. Other great resources are the career fairs and expos taking place throughout the semester. Check listings within the school of your major for more information.
