Quick Stats

Students Are Most Likely to Get Caught...
  • Having alcohol in a freshmen dorm
  • Parking illegally

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Ursinus College was founded in 1869, and a town grew around it, which became known as Collegeville. Because of this, it should come as no surprise that the fire station is actually on the corner of campus, and the police station is across the street from the fire station. But don’t worry, there is not much of a Collegeville police presence on campus. However, students will frequently see members of Campus Safety prowling Ursinus on their bikes.
The members of Campus Safety are usually friendly to students and make the environment much more relaxed. This relationship also sort of carries over to parties on campus—while Campus Safety officers may be nearby, they won’t break up a party because someone is too loud. Campus Safety officers usually let the students live their lives unless they do something that affects the safety of themselves or others on campus. They are, however, fairly strict on parking. Although students complain that Campus Safety officers can be inconsistent in doling out tickets, the officers try to be as consistent as possible. Students will run the risk of getting a ticket if they’ve parked illegally. On the whole, however, students generally feel safe and relaxed on the campus.

Super Laid Back Ursinus

The only things that are strict here are drugs. It is a wet campus and they do not give a s*** about people drinking as long as your not walking around campus with an open container or in a freshman dorm

Friendly but Professional

Campus Safety is interested in only one thing: your safety. The wonderful people who work in the administration building are always friendly, unless you are giving them a hard time. ResLife takes the time to be personal with the residents before jumping to judgments and unwarranted conclusions. The school takes drug violations very seriously and drinking violations are less strict, but still very much enforced.

A Little Backwards, but Not That Strict

The school is very open to alcohol. They don't really bust anybody unless you are a freshman throwing up. The school is a bit backwards though when it comes to drugs such as pot. They are stricter about it. It makes absolutely no sense since it is a liberal arts school. You'd think that the school officials would be intelligent enough to know the facts about alcohol and pot, and realize that alcohol is the one they should watch out for, while pot is the one they shouldn't care about. The students who do smoke pot generally are the better students, while the students who get s***-faced every weekend tend to be the ones who cheat their way through classes and barely pass.
