College Prowler Take

Since on-campus dining is somewhat lacking in quality, off-campus dining looks much more appealing by default. There is a nice variety of food, ranging from the cheap and quick to pricier, higher-quality cuisine. What’s even nicer is that most restaurants are locally run and operated, so they have a much more personal touch to them. There are a few chains, but, generally, students will go to a diner for food. Several restaurants are within walking distance, which makes it especially nice for those who don’t have a car, but there are also plenty of restaurants that can be found while driving.

Since Ursinus is located in a heavily residential area, it can sometimes be hard to find some restaurants. But even though a bit of local knowledge is required, students find that off-campus food is worth seeking out. However, most restaurants cater to local residents, not college students, so sometimes the food can be a bit pricier than desired. Thankfully, though, the student favorites—Collegeville Diner and Rocco’s Pizza—are very close and provide great food at a good price.

Off-campus food is absolutely amazing. There is everything from Italian to Japanese. The seafood and pizza here are really good, too.

I don’t eat out that often. The Collegeville Diner is about the only place I go when I feel like eating off campus. It’s not that far, so I don’t need to drive there, which is nice because I don’t have a car on campus. Personally, I don’t see what’s so bad about campus food.

Being a city dweller, I’m used to just walking around and finding restaurants, no matter what part of the city I’m in or what time of day it is. Living in a suburban area and having a much more limiting selection was a bit of an adjustment for me. I can’t just walk around anymore, and I find myself eating out less as a result.
