Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Since on-campus dining is somewhat lacking in quality, off-campus dining looks much more appealing by default. There is a nice variety of food, ranging from the cheap and quick to pricier, higher-quality cuisine. What’s even nicer is that most restaurants are locally run and operated, so they have a much more personal touch to them. There are a few chains, but, generally, students will go to a diner for food. Several restaurants are within walking distance, which makes it especially nice for those who don’t have a car, but there are also plenty of restaurants that can be found while driving.

Since Ursinus is located in a heavily residential area, it can sometimes be hard to find some restaurants. But even though a bit of local knowledge is required, students find that off-campus food is worth seeking out. However, most restaurants cater to local residents, not college students, so sometimes the food can be a bit pricier than desired. Thankfully, though, the student favorites—Collegeville Diner and Rocco’s Pizza—are very close and provide great food at a good price.

You Have to Look Hard Enough...

The first place that many students check out upon arriving at Ursinus is the Collegevile Diner but, with a college wallet, the place becomes difficult to swing after a while. There are plenty of reasonably priced pizza shops (my favorite being the conveniently located Marzella's, sushi places, and bars with restaurant seating. As a vegetarian, I'm used to picking and choosing my way around menus, but, I'd love to see more organic/vegetarian options nearby! I think they'd be a hit with students!

Small Town Love

Ursinus College is located in Collegeville, PA. It is a very small town but offers a lot of options near by for students that are in walking distance. Some of the places are small, local, family owned places, but there are also chain restaurants and fast food places that are equally as convenient.
