Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The weather in Collegeville runs the full gamut of seasons. The fall is cooler, with leaves changing to brilliant and dazzling colors. Winters are cold with varying amounts of snow. Spring brings bring plenty of rain and fluctuating temperatures, and summers are very hot and stifling. Students from places like Buffalo or Alaska won’t think there is that much snow, and students from Florida or Arizona might not find the summers to be that hot in comparison, but there are definitely four seasons here. And students should come prepared for all of them—boots, gloves, and heavy coats for the winter and light clothing for the spring and summer months. Having an umbrella or poncho is recommended as there can be some heavy storms.

A variety of sporting and outdoor activities can be found year-round because of the four seasons. There is a mountain nearby where students can go skiing or snow-tubing during the winter, and the Perkiomen Trail is a great place to spend a day hiking when the temperatures warm up. What’s even better is that the weather never really becomes a serious issue. The school rarely closes for classes due to snow since most students live on campus and walk to class anyway. The weather is a pleasant aspect of Ursinus—colorful falls, snowy winters, budding springs, and hot summers.

Relatively Clear Sky's

On campus, it is mostly sunny out, except for a few rain clouds every now and then. Although even when the rain comes, it doesn't stop people from enjoying themselves outside.

Windy Winters and Warm Falls and Springs

Currently Collegeville has much more snow than normal for this area. It is icy, but the campus has done a great job plowing everything and keeping us from slick conditions. The winters are usually colder (around 20 degrees probably) but there are pretty strong winds which makes it even colder. The Fall and Spring are absolutely gorgeous and full of sun. It doesn't usually get too hot though.
