BYU is a pretty homogeneous group of people, but I would never say that it isn't tolerant or accepting of others. I think because it is a private religious school that expects strict adherence to certain commandments, that you generally have quite a bit in common with a person though you might be from different countries. I did not feel like I was stunted in personal growth by any lack of diversity.

There is always fun stuff going on, especially per apartment complex. Everyone seems to keep the social life alive at BYU. There is definitely not much bar/club scenes by Provo, but people still have a ton of fun at events, house parties, and the commercial strips nearby.

There are plenty of great places to live, but landlords can make all the difference. Definitely look at reviews on websites to see what they say about the managers. The prices are expensive for a place like Provo, but not crazy compared to other college towns.
