Greek Life Is Strong but Does Not Dominate

At F&M we have 7 fraternities, 3 sororities and 1 co-ed honors fraternity, this accounts for about 25-30% of the student body. Greeks are not always viewed in the most positive light by non greeks simply because guys not in a fraternity cannot get into parties after fall of freshman year. However, the Greeks do great things on campus, they have some of the highest GPA's, are highly involved in extracurricular activities as well as in the community. They raise a lot of money for charity and volunteer in the community. The social scene is not dominate by Greeks there are plenty of open, non-Greek parties on campus. Every Greek organization has a house that houses around ten people.
