How Can I Not Gain the Freshman Fifteen?
The facilities at Texas Tech are fairly decent for the most part. The athletics center seems well kept and offers many different activities. The student union building is an extremely nice place for students to grab food and hold meetings. However, the dorms, classrooms, and eating places on campus are sub-par. Most of the dorms don't seem to be up to date and neither do the classrooms. The food on campus is very greasy and oh so very bland. Unfortunately, with my budget, it's all I can afford to eat. How am I supposed to stay fit when I'm surrounded by grease?

I'd Rather Walk to Class
There are buses that run fairly often and cover a good amount of campus. Off campus permits are moderately difficult and expensive to obtain, and are far from campus. There are a few bus routes that travel to off campus apartments that are included in either rent or tuition. Overall, it's decent, but it's more convenient to walk.

I Thought I Had Finished High School.
Overall, I've had a pretty good time attending TTU. The friends I have made are awesome and I've had some pretty amazing teachers as well. However, I cannot say the same for the entire student body. Most of the people here look like exact clones of each other. There's no diversity! I am part of one of if not the smallest minority on campus: pagans. I'd love to have some sort of seminar or something telling people that we aren't what many of them think we are. The pagans I've met here are nicer than pretty much everyone else. I've also noticed that many of the students here, many of them older than me by many years, seem to have a hard problem with maturity. They act as though they are in middle school! I think it's ridiculous. If I had to do it again though, I'd probably still attend Tech because I feel like it was the best option for me.

Don't Keep Secrets from Me!
Financial aid can be a pretty big nightmare. Multiple times I was either misinformed or simply not told important information. The first time those things happened it caused me to miss the deadline for a very important scholarship. The second time I thought I was $7000 in debt! You have to stay on top of that stuff because the people that work there are fairly incompetent.

This is Chitwood Hall. It is an all-female dorm home to the PEGASUS community, which provides First Generation College (FGC) students to live together. It is also closest to the dining facility that stays open the latest.
