Computers at Emory University

A

Computers on Campus

The computers on campus are pretty up-to-date with regard to their operating systems and technological capabilities. The computer labs are fairly available however, they get crowded easily during finals and midterms. Printing, just as on every college campus, costs however, it is typically paid for using money pre-loaded onto your Emory Card. The network on campus is reliable however, the speed slows down when wireless capabilities from printers interfere with the campus wireless network. I would recommend bringing a laptop as it makes it easier to do your work without having to leave your room to find a computer lab or available computer. I would not recommend getting a printer unless you know that your class(es) will require you to print many papers or information. Otherwise you can share with a roommate (or get your own if you do not feel too comfortable doing so). ;)

Transportation at Emory University

A+

Not Bad at All

The transportation system at Emory is not bad at all. There are shuttle buses running to various places on campus for your convenience and they have a shuttle running late at night if you do not feel safe walking by yourself to your dorm or another building. It is provided to you as a part of your tuition. The shuttles also go to various locations in the city as part of the "Emory Experience" which is a great way to get off campus and explore the city.
