Conveinient Student Union
The student union at Louisiana State University is very convenient for its busy students. You can study in the "Live Oak" lounge or in the computer areas. There are many tables throughout where you an also study. The "Tiger Lair" is the newly built food court which offers plenty of dietary options. The union is also practical for meetings if you are in student organizations. On top of that, you can head to the union if you need to go to an ATM, Redbox, Starbucks, pay your cable or internet bill through a local company, take leisure classes or get your hair cut.

Residential Assistants Are Snitches
Residential Assistants are generally strict in most dorms, but a few are more relaxed in other dorms. Some residential assistants allow certain students to get away with underage drinking and drug use, but most call the police as soon as possible. More residential assistants should give out warnings instead of immediate and extreme punishments. The campus police department is always at any large events on campus, but sometimes they stop the students from having fun just because they think the crowd is too large.

Financial Aid Is a Headache for Everyone
Almost every student I have talked to has had at least one student with their financial aid process, unless they have a full-ride scholarship. The financial aid process can be very slow and difficult because you cannot easily get a hold of financial aid advisers. Calling is a no because you will wait on the line for at least 15 minutes. If you go to the office during the beginning of the semester the line will be very long. The advisers will not respond to emails in a timely manner. It is best if you can get all of your financial aid requirements finished before the semester starts. Make sure your FAFSA is completed as soon as possible because Louisiana State University has been cutting back on their financial aid packages.

Delivery Is Your Best Friend
There are a lot of local eateries, but if you have a meal plan you will probably only eat out on the weekends. However, there's some great local spots that are around $10-$15 a meal. If it's late at night, several local places like Pluckers and Hungry Howie's deliver after 12.

You Pay for Convenience
Most of the on-campus housing is ok. The majority of the dorms are not like how they're protrayed in the movies. There's a lack of privacy whether it's sharing bathrooms or thin walls. Some of the dorms are very outdated and can be far away from certain parts of campus. The on-campus apartments are nice but small. It is almost cheaper if not the same price to stay off-campus, but you're basically paying for convenience.
