Majoring in Registered Nursing (RN)
Member since 4/11/2012
The population is majority white, it is the midwest. I have not run into any errant racism, strong political views or religious issues. This is a Christian university but their goal is not to indoctrinate you to their faith, however you are expected to take one religious course. The accelerated nursing program that I attend is fairly insulated from the main student body so I can't fairly grade the campus overall.
Easy to Find – I was blown away by the amount of apartments available right next to campus. I found a one bedroom apartment with a nice living room and full kitchen right across the street for a very reasonable price. The on campus advisers are more than happy to get you in contact with nearby apartment complexes and even people they know who are renting rooms! You won't have trouble finding a place to live and it will be very affordable.
Very Safe – The University of Sioux Fall's campus is perfectly safe. There is only one emergency call light which is odd to me, but the campus is not very large. The on campus police are very friendly and always willing to help. They have a number that you can call anytime and an officer will escort you if you feel unsafe. The campus and parking lots are well lit at night.
