Claremont Is Cute and LA Is Close
Claremont is cute. There are a lot of small shops to explore and local cafes and restaurants that are fun to go out to. If you are really looking for a big city though, LA is so close. There are tons of concerts and events to go to and it's pretty easy to find someone with a car to go with.

I Am Not Picky
Always a great salad bar. There is a main area that always changes and is usually local, decently healthy foods. At lunch, there is always a sandwich bar and sometimes a worker who makes special, individual salads. A full grill is almost always available with burgers, quesadillas, chicken breasts, etc. Some of the favorites are pasta bar where they will make you a customized pasta dish with tons of options and Taco Tuesday with such delicious tacos and burritos! They never get old!
