Not Too Wonderful

The immediate area surrounding Vassar is fairly nice- there are cute little houses and some great restaurants for surprisingly cheap. However, once you go more than two or three streets deep into Poughkeepsie, all bets are off. It's a pretty sketchy place, and the locals do not like Vassar students (and, it must be said, vice versa). My friends and I mostly only go into town in order to catch the train to New York City.
