Campus Strictness at Lewis & Clark College

A-

You're Pretty Free

If you're over 21 you can keep alcohol in your room. Campus Security roam around in their trucks after hours, and will sometimes randomly walk into the entrance of a hall, but there's a good change they wont venture further if it's quiet.

Transportation at Lewis & Clark College

A

The Shuttle's Pretty Convenient

The school has a shuttle that stops at Fred Meyer's and downtown, which is, at least, better than relying on the 39. The two issues with LC's shuttle is it doesn't run between 10:30am - 3:00 (but most people are in classes during those times anyways) and it doesn't venture any further than downtown. Freshmen can't have cars on campus, but there are ways to get around that.

Portland's mass transit is one of the best in the US though, so you can and should take advantage of that.

Weather at Lewis & Clark College

B-

Sure, It Rains...

... but if you're coming to Portland, you're asking for it. The sun does come out every now and then though, in which case campus is lovely. I'm now used to the rain, but if you have an issue with it, you may want to reconsider how much you want to be here.

Campus Housing at Lewis & Clark College

B

It Could Be a Lot Worse

Living on campus can get expensive in the long haul. LC requires first and second years to live on campus. All dorms excluding Hartzfeld and the Apartments have communal bathrooms, which initially may be a shock, but students learn to appreciate the fact that they don't have to clean up their own bathrooms. Stewart, Akin, and Odell come with walk-in closets, which is nice if you like organizing your stuff away from the sight of visitors. Copeland is probably the most social dorm, as well as one of the loudest, along with Platt and Howard. The four dorms that make up Forrest are also a popular choice for Freshmen.
