Ethnic Fare and Dependable Establishments
Northfield boasts not one but two authentic Indian restaurants who feature accessibility and reasonable prices. Carleton students love Hogan Brothers for their sandwiches and ecclectic atmosphere. Minnestrone, vegetarian chili, or beer cheese soup on a cold Minnesota eve never fail to hit the spot. Pizza and coffee houses aplenty can also be found along the main stretch.

Chapstick, Sunscreen, Bugspray
Carleton is in Minnesota. Campus is bound to get all kinds of weather, including snow (duh), rain, sunshine, and wind. As long as you are prepared with layers for warmth when necessary, the weather is not a major issue. Carleton students enjoy the outdoors regardless of the temperature. Facilities does a good job of keeping sidewalks clear, so mobility is not a hassle in winter months. Dependble boots will go a long way, though.

Myriad Options for Every Style
Carleton has something for everyone and somethings that everyone should experience. Be it during nights in the observatory, an afternoon jog through the Arb, 20 pages into a paper at the Libe, or a coffee break in Sayles, you will find Carleton facilities are well maintained and modern. Campus is increasingly environmentally sustainable. The campus is not overly manicured, but contains some extraordinary biomes.

Why Move Away from All the Fun?
Most Carleton students live on campus because there is sufficient housing, the dorms are user friendly, and off-campus stuff is reserved for upperclassmen.

Trivia Night at the Cow!
You should not come to Carleton for a ragin party scene; still, there are a fair number of nighttime social options, many of which reflect the Carleton academic humor. There are a few pubs in Northfield, including Froggy's and The Contented Cow, the latter of which features trivia competition every sunday. Nightlife is commonly friendly to those looking to drink and those who are not, regardless of age.
