Mizzou Academics
I came to the University of Missouri to study Social Work because it has a very good program. All of the professors I have had have been very nice, helpful, and always available to make time for their students. The registration process goes over fairly well, its just time consuming. The campus is amazing, there is always something going on and there is everything you need right there at hand. The study areas are awesome, I live in Greek town and I still venture off into campus to study at the new student center and Memorial Union. Some of the classes are huge, which make it a little more difficult to pay attention and stay interested but the smaller ones are perfect and include a lot of in class discussion which is very helpful!

Safety at Mizzou
There have been times where I have been a little scared on MU's campus but only at night when walking back from studying, class or a friends house. The University of Missouri is really good about notifying the students/faculty about any crime that does go on as soon as they find out about it. There are also many of the Blue buttons on campus that you can push if you feel as if you are in danger which is very reassuring. Drinking is a big problem on our campus, so drunk drivers are always a worry of mine. I personally have never been involved in any campus crimes, but they do happen on our campus.

Students at Mizzou
I would say that it depends on if the students are Greek or not. If they are Greek, they most likely care more about what they look like, wear, and who they are seen with. They are also most likely more social and enjoy partying more often than non-greeks. They do have strong bonds with other Greeks in the Greek system, but most likely don't have many friends outside of the Greek system unless they went to high school together or lived in the dorms together freshman year. The students that are non-Greek are more laid back most of the time and are more serious about the studying aspect of college rather than the social life. I feel as if the non-Greek students I know and have met are very nice and easy to get along with.

Social Work Major
As a newly social work student I have been able to really explore the program. I have over 500 different options that I can go into with this major and the program is very open and relaxing. The workload is just right. It is not overbearing, probably because I love doing the work I am assigned. All of my professors are AMAZING. I have not met one professor in this field that has not been helpful and nice. The curriculum is interesting. Everything I learn about in the social work field teaches me a lot about life in general and the peopel that I will most likely encounter at one point or another. Everything has been very helpful so far. The facilities for my program are fairly nice. Some of the facilities are a little outdated in my opinion but they serve their purpose. Internship and job opportunities are easier to find than for most programs. I feel as if this is because there will always be jobs available to work with people and with a program that offers 500 different jobs when you are done, I'm not really limited.

Cheaper Off-Campus
Off-campus housing is a lot cheaper here in my opinion. Many people try to find housing on east/west "campus" its not really campus, but its very close. Those places are harder to get due to everyone wants them. Other off-campus housing is still cheaper. We have shuttles that go back and fourth to campus from around 6 am to 1 am every day. The price of these houses/apartments are still cheaper than paying to live in the dorm or in the greek houses. Parking if you do drive for some reason can be a bit of a hassel and expensive but its not impossible. The shuttles are provided by the University though and they aren't expensive and they are very convienent.

Parking on Campus
Parking on our campus is very inconvienent. Permit costs are pretty expensive along with ticketing and fines which occur A LOT on campus. The need for a car on campus depends on the student. If they live close, they probably dont need one. If they live far away they might depending on other things they might be involved in that cause them to be other places at times when waiting for a bus could slow them down. Parking is very limited on campus also, we have a ton of students and our populatin only keeps growing, but are parking is minimal.
