Very Safe University
I think the area around the university is a really safe part of Manhattan and the school does everything possible to ensure the safety and security of its students. You must have an NYU id to enter all NYU buildings and to enter dorms you must scan your id and type your password. There are security guards on duty in all buildings 24/7 and guests must show id and be with an NYU student to enter buildings. I have not been notified of any crime around campus and I always feel safe, even late at night.

Endless Options
You can literally get any type of food you want at any time in Greenwich Village. Chinatown and Little Italy are also within walking distance and many restaurants will even deliver to your dorm. You could NEVER run out of places to eat.

Great Campus
Living on campus, in a dorm, is the best option for students at NYU. Housing is guaranteed for all four years and the dorms are much nicer and more spacious than the dorms at any other college I've been to. An especially nice factor is the private bathrooms for each room.
