Beautiful Campus, Crappy People

College of Charleston has such a beautiful campus in the heart of downtown Charleston, SC with a 10 minute drive to the beach. This attracts a lot of out-of-state students which would lead you to believe that the student body would be extremely diverse, however, that's not exactly the truth. Money rules at CofC and if you don't have it, you're kind of sunk. Greek life is huge there and sororities at least will judge prospective pledges first on the cost of their outfit. It's also an outrageously expensive city to live in. I liked my year there, but hope that transferring will help me find the college of my dreams.

Off-Campus Dining at College of Charleston

A-

Delicious

There are a ton of amazing restaurants in Charleston, but most of them are fine dining that is wayy above a college students budget. There are a few tried and true college campus favorites that are open late night and have college student discounts and specials. Spring Roll on King and Mama Kim's are two asian inspired favorites that every student has on speed dial.

Inside Scoop at College of Charleston

Campus

The most unique part of CofC life is living in such a historical city. Since it usually hosts a huge amount of tourists, there are plenty of restaurants and nightlife. Most students have fake i.d.'s and go to clubs instead of house parties. They have a great career website to help students and alumni find work though. I'd say awesome environment, but not much in the way of special programs or events.
