UGA Nightlife
The social atmosphere at UGA is great! It's always nice to meet new people while going out with friends. There are plenty of bars and little eateries while walking around downtown and bar hopping. However, if you're looking to relieve some stress by dancing the night away, downtown Athens is not the place to be. The atmosphere of the clubs in downtown Athens are nothing like an actual club. And the music is alright. Majority of the nightlife is for students 21 or older. There isn't much for 18+. But on the bright side, there are always house parties and fraternity/sorority events to go to which are usually free with better music selection!

Convenient Yet Inconvenient
The UGA buses are usually running every 5-8 minutes during the day time. However, once 6 p.m. hits. It's very rare to see a UGA bus go by. Also, the UGA buses are late to their stops sometimes, which causes some students to be late to class. There are other options like biking, walking, or taking the Athens Transit. The Athens Transit runs throughout the campus and off campus as well. The Athens Transits also takes you to Target, Wal-Mart, and apartment complexes. It is free for UGA students. The cost of the transportation fee are reasonable. There really isn't much to say about long-distance transportation. You're basically going to need a car to go anywhere more than 5 minutes from campus or somewhere the buses don't go. It would be nice to see more buses running throughout the day and night. I know some students who take night classes and don't have a ride home. Sometimes they don't even go to class because of the whole ride situation.
